MOST OF THE INDEPENDENT COGNAC PRODUCERS ALSO PRODUCE PINEAU
Pineau is the regional drink produced from in the Charente & Charente Maritime. Two types are available, white or red known as Rosé, both of which are developed by adding cognac to grape must juice then ageing it in oak barrels. The grapes for Pineau come from the vines on the limestone slopes. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc grape juice for the red pineau, and Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Colombard, Sauvignon & Montils grapejuice is used for the white pineau although sometimes the Semillion grape is also introduced.
Join us for an exclusive tour of an independant vineyard producing Pineau and Cognac where there will be ample time for tasting Cognac and discovering Pineau.
